In 2021, John Hammock formed Hammock Consulting, LLC. Hammock Consulting is a strategic development firm specializing in business development, community development, and economic development. John helps businesses and people navigate the red tape of bureaucracy across the United States.

John’s diverse business and civil service experience gives Hammock Consulting a unique perspective. Having served two terms as Mayor and Superintendent of Utilities for his home city of Tallassee, AL, preceded by over a decade as a small business owner gives John valuable knowledge and highly sought-after skillset.

John received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a focus on corrections from the University of Alabama. John has also received certifications in planning and zoning, economic development, City and County management, grant writing, and gas pipeline safety.

John has served on several boards including Alabama League of Municipalities, Central Alabama Aging Consortium, Autauga Montgomery Elmore seniors, Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Corporation, and Regional Planning Organization.
